Lawmakers reacting to failure of Super Committee

JEFFERSON CITY -- Missouri lawmakers were quick to join the chorus condemning the so-call "Super Committee" on Monday, after the group failed to reach an agreement on deficit reduction -- it's soul purpose for existing.

"I did not vote for the creation of the Super Committee, because I believed that the Budget Control Act (which created the committee) did not address the fundamental problem of reckless deficit spending," said St. Louis Congressman and 2012 Senate Candidate Todd Akin in a written statement on Monday.
