Michael Gimlin

SIKESTON -- Michael Lee Gimlin of Sikeston passed away at the age of 52 on Dec. 13, 2011, after having suffered a long illness.

He was born April 29, 1959, in Sikeston, to Vaudean and Dewey Gimlin. He graduated from Sikeston High School in 1977, and later from the University of Missouri with a bachelor of science in health sciences. He had a long and prodigious career in respiratory therapy.

He married Denise Johnson in 1980 and enjoyed a long, happy and fruitful marriage having three children, Andrew (26), Katrina (23), and Patrick (20). He was fortunate to see his daughter marry (Dustin) and his oldest son engaged (Heather).

He is survived by his mother; his sister, Michelle Gimlin Kirkley; his wife and children, and many beloved aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and in-laws.

He was proceeded in death by his father in 1991 and his grandparents.

Visitation will be at the Concordia Lutheran Church in Sikeston, on Saturday, Dec. 17, from 1 to 4 p.m., followed by a memorial service.

Nunnelee Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
