CHARLESTON -- Sadie Mae Triplett, 71, died Jan. 16, 2012, at her home in Charleston.

Born Sept. 7, 1940, in Clinton, Ky., to Emma Louise Crumble-Scott of Mayfield, Ky., and the late Autrey Scott Sr., she was employed by the Charleston Public Schools for 31 years in the culinary department before retiring and was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Henson, where she served on the Mother's Board.

On May 12, 1954, she married Willie Triplett Sr., who preceded her in death on July 31, 1992.

Also one son, Robert Anthony Triplett Sr., preceded her in death on April 20, 2004.

In addition to her mother, survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Willie and Francine Triplett Jr. of Charleston; six daughters and four sons-in-law, Julia Thomas of Mayfield, Linda Triplett, Bobbie and Gary Sager, Mary and Harry Hightower, Sandra and Bobby Joe Clark and Lula Machelle and Claude Grant of Charleston; one brother, Autrey Scott Jr. of Stone Mountain, Ga.; one sister, Cora Marie Saxton of Mayfield; 21 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Bowden Civic Center in Charleston with the Rev. Sylvester Davis, pastor of St. Paul MB Church, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston with the Williams Funeral Home of Charleston in charge of arrangements.
