Sikeston DPS releases 2011 crime statistics

Service calls and arrests down in 2011

SIKESTON -- Crime appears to be dropping in Sikeston as compared with recent years.

The Sikeston Department of Public Safety submits Uniform Crime Report statistics on a monthly basis to the state which then forwards those to the Federal Bureau of Investigation on an annual basis, according to DPS Capt. John Martin.

All 12 months are processed and submitted along with the figures from the previous year in a report to the City Council to make comparisons.
