Ada Byrd-Pullen

BELL CITY -- Ada Byrd-Pullen, 91, died Feb. 15, 2012, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Nov. 14, 1920, in Brookhaven, Miss., to the late Sol and Addie Vaughn Culver, she was a member Christ Sanctuary Church of God in Christ in Bell City where she served on the Mother's Board.

She first married Spencer Byrd, and he preceded her in death. She later married Ed Pullen, who also preceded her in death.

Two sons, Jimmy Byrd and Robert Byrd, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: three sons, Gus Byrd and Bernard Byrd of Newark, Del., and Sol Byrd of Bell City; four daughters, Annrell Byrd-Benson, Christella Byrd-Benson and Beverly Byrd of St. Louis and Addie Byrd of Atlanta; and 19 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Christ Sanctuary Church of God in Christ in Bell City, where services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday with Elder Ronald Pulley, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in the J.C. Pullen Memorial Garden Cemetery at Bell City.

Williams Funeral Home of Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
