CAIRO, Ill. -- Carlandus Ware, 38, died May 6, 2012, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Born March 6, 1974, in Cairo, to Gloria Ware Whitfield of Cairo and the late Carlandus Mallory, he was a 1992 graduate of Cairo High School and served in the U.S. Navy, receiving an honorable discharge in 1998. He was an employee of Alexander County Public Housing.

In addition to his mother, survivors include: his stepfather, Billy Whitfield of Cairo, his fiancee, Tameka Moore of Cairo; six sons, Carlandus Ware Jr. of Tuscaloosa, Ala., KeVante Ware, Tavarius Ware and Camarion Porter-Ware of Cairo, Undraus Ware of Sikeston, Mo., and JeSairus Maborn-Ware of Mounds, Ill.; four brothers, Mark Tucker of St. Louis, Billy Whitfield Jr. of Clarksville, Tenn., Kevin McAllister of Cairo and Jonathan Ellis of Omaha, Neb.; five sisters, Gabriella Ware, Twyla Whitfield and Kaneesha Mallory of Cairo, Victoria Howard of Austin, Texas, and Kathie McAllister of Carbondale, Ill.; one stepson, Michael Box Jr. of Cairo; two stepdaughters, Utaria Box and TyJanae Box of Cairo; maternal grandmother, Arbell Matthews of Cairo; and a special friend, Thomas Griffin of Cairo.

Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Cairo High School with Phillip Matthews officiating.

Burial with full military honors will be held Monday at the National Cemetery in Mounds.

The Williams Funeral Home of Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
