MURRAY, Ky. -- Kenneth Jewell Manker Sr., 70, formerly of Charleston, Mo., died May 19, 2012, at his home in Murray.

Born Aug. 8, 1941, at Charleston, to the late James and Helen Toombs Manker, he had lived in Murray a number of years where he was employed as the district sales manager for the Bunny Bread Company with over 37 years of service including from 1969 to 2002 in the Murray area. He was a former member of St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.

On Sept. 23, 1961, he married Brenda Sue Long, who survives of the home in Murray.

Also surviving are: two sons and daughters-in-law, Ken Manker Jr. and his wife, Carol, of Grand Rivers, Ky., and Terry Manker Sr. and his wife, Regina, of Paducah, Ky; one daughter and son-in-law, Kelly Vaughn and her husband Jamie of Russellville, Ark.; four brothers, James Manker of Canyon Lake, Texas, Ray Manker of St. Louis, David Manker of Charleston and Donnie Manker of Atoka, Tenn.; three sisters, Judy Holzem of Springville, Tenn., Norma Sommer of Sparta, Ill., and Melba Stricker of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Larry Manker, and one brother, Paul Manker.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston with the Rev. Glenn Eftink, pastor, serving as celebrant.

Interment with full military honors provided by the United States Marines and the Missouri Military Honors Program will follow at the Calvary Cemetery near Charleston.
