CRESCENT CITY, Fla. -- Eathel Agnes Doolittle, 98, formerly of East Prairie and Charleston, died at 12:50 a.m. June 20, 2012, in the Putnam Community Hospital in Palatka, Fla.

Born May 4, 1914, in Searcy, Ark, to the late W.M. and Maude Ramer James, she lived in Mississippi County most of her life and had lived in Florida for the past 12 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church in East Prairie.

In 1932, she married Felix Parker who preceded her in death. In 1986, she married Cletus Doolittle who preceded her in death on Aug. 20, 1987.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Myrurl Sanders; four sisters, Louise Cobb, Christine Gibson, Pauline Hooten and Edith Cotter; and one grandson, Andy Jordan.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Vernon and Sandrann of Crescent City; one daughter and son-in-law, Frances and Roger Roth of Evansville, Ind.; one sister, Hilda Gullion of Monroe, Ohio; and nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from noon to 1 p.m. Sunday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Graveside services will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Calvary Cemetery near Charleston with Martin Lucas officiating.
