SIKESTON -- Marvin Lee "Scotty" Scott, 79, died Sept. 25, 2012, at the Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born Feb. 22, 1933, in Mine La Motte, to the late Orville and Florence Matthews Scott, he was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served during the Korean War. He was a corporate and commercial pilot, taught flight lessons and was designated by the Federal Aviation Administration as a regional flight examiner.

On Sept. 13, 1962, at Poplar Bluff, he married Judith Ward who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: three sons and daughters-in-law, Ward H. and Sally Davis and Rolla C. and Debra Scott of Springfield and Michael L. and Kimberley A. Laub Scott of Sikeston; two daughters, Paulette L. Knoll of Freeburg and Belinda S. Christopher of Dittmer; one brother, Alvin Scott of St. Louis; one sister, Carolyn Swink of Libertyville; and seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Darrell E. Scott.

No public services are scheduled.
