ATLANTA -- Blake DeWitt is now an Atlanta Brave.
Sources close to the situation confirmed Wednesday night that the former Sikeston standout baseball player signed a deal with the Braves organization.
Details of the agreement are still being finalized.
DeWitt spent most of last season with the Iowa Cubs, the Chicago Cubs' Triple-A affiliate where he was placed on the disabled list in late July with a lower back strain.
The second baseman was designated for assignment in early May after batting .138 with the Cubs in a part-time role.
In 30 games with Iowa, DeWitt batted .127 with 13 hits and five RBIs.
