Mac McGahey

SIKESTON - Hazel "Mac" McGahey, 89, died Jan. 9, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Born Dec. 15, 1914, in Obion, Tenn., son of the late Nicholas and Hallie Halloway McGahey, he owned and operated Mac's Barber Shop for over 50 years and was known by friends and customers as "Mac the Barber."

He married Virginia Shy who preceded him in death on July 6, 2000.

He was also preceded in death by one infant daughter, three brothers, one sister and one son-in-law, Gene Johnson.

Survivors include: one daughter, Charlotte Johnson of Sikeston; one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Susan and Allan Davidson of Sikeston; one great-grandson, Chris Davidson of Sikeston; one great-granddaughter and great-grandson-in-law, Laura and John Oliver of Murray, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from noon until time for services at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. The Rev. Carl Addison, pastor of Tanner Street Church of God, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Forrest Hills Cemetery at Morley.
