Whoever took my dog from 712 Wright in Oran , I will find you and smoke you out.

Most Americans have shown their patriotism since the terrorist act, I'd like to know why hasn't Sikeston put up their flags all over town?

You must have been out of town. The American Legion had put the flags out shortly after the attack and they remained on display in town until the week after the Cotton Carnival.

I have noticed that the approval rating concerning your web poll for military strikes against Afghanistan has gone from 90 percent down to 70 percent in just a few weeks, and I think that is just sad. Have people forgotten already that 5,000 people were killed on Sept. 11, and that the people who carried out these acts are not the kind that sit down and discuss things like real human beings. Those terrorists are pure evil and we must destroy evil before it kills more innocent victims. America has finally said "Enough is enough" and we must sit tight and hang in there for the long haul if we want to win this war. Maybe the Standard should remind its readers of this horrible act that was committed on our own soil and to stand behind our military.

I read on Oct. 16 where Charter is going up on their prices in the Sikeston area. They say it's to help pay for equipment and give you more channels. But on the cable we have now you can't get Channel 6 out of Paducah, Ky., clear; you can't get half the channels you pay for and if you do, you've got to have this box. Then they put this box on your house without asking for your permission, cut into your siding, and you're upping your prices and we don't get half the channels we're paying for. Something needs to be done. When I call the office, a technician says it's my TV but my television is up to date. Something needs to be done before you raise prices. Can somebody tell me what's going on?
