CHARLESTON -- An arraignment date has been set for the Bertrand man charged with the murder of a Charleston man.

Fred Drury Sr., 54, of Bertrand will appear before Judge T. Lynn Brown in the Associate Circuit Court in Charleston Wednesday. Charges were filed by the Mississippi County Prosecution Attorney's Office against Drury for second degree murder and armed criminal action in the shooting death of Bobby Joe Burke, 25, who was found dead at Drury's home near Bertrand around midnight Saturday.

Mississippi County Coroner Terry A. Parker reports Burke apparently died of multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and abdomen. Autopsy results are not yet available.

"The case is still undergoing investigation," said Neal Frazier, Mississippi County assistant prosecuting attorney and special gun prosecutor, early today.

Frazier said the motive of the incident isn't being released at this time. Drury is being held on a $500,000 bond and remains in the Mississippi County Jail at this time.
