Outlook: The state ranked Colts will be too much for the Indians.

Last week: Perryville beat DeSoto 19-14. Poplar Bluff lost to Jackson 27-7.

Outlook: Both teams have struggled but the Mules will be too tough at home.

Players to watch: CARUTHERSVILLE -- (QB) Rogers VanAusdall, (RB) Jimmy Jackson, (WB) Chris Springer. EAST PRAIRIE -- (QB) Matt Boyer, (RB) Brent Harland, (WR) Dez Johnson. w Outlook: This could be East Prairie's best chance to avoid going winless.

Outlook: Crystal City poses the biggest threat to end the Bluejays' two-year district championship run.

Last week: Kennett was idle. Dexter beat Caruthersville 42-7.

Players to watch: KENNETT -- (RB) Tyree Goolsby, (QB) Dontavis Jones, (RB) Brian Mitchell. DEXTER -- (RB) Matt Burnett, (QB) Preston Clark, (WR) Willie Dooley.

Outlook: A good season so far for Dexter. Kennett has played the role of spoiler in the past.

Coaches: Fredericktown's Kent Gibbs (2-5), NMCC's Steve Rogers (2-5).

Last year: NMCC won 35-15 Last week: Fredericktown lost to Park Hills Central 15-12. NMCC lost to Dyersburg 38-20.

Players to watch: FREDERICKTOWN -- (RB) Kyle Stephens, (QB) Kyle Tesreau, (LB) Nick McDaniel.

w Outlook: Fredericktown has yet to beat the Eagles since the two starting playing in 1998.

Favorite: NMCC

Valle at Chaffee

Place, time: Chaffee High School, 7:30 p.m.

Coaches: Valle's William Palmer (4-3), Chaffee's Alan Horrell (1-6)

Last year: Valle won 43-0

Last week: Valle beat Grandview 24-12. Chaffee lost to Malden 41-0.

Players to watch: VALLE -- (QB) Patrick Odneal, (DE) Zach Wipfler, (LB) Jay Pope. CHAFFEE -- (QB) Sam Burnett, (RB) Zac Horman, (RB) Brandon Davis.

Outlook: The red-hot Warriors, winners of four straight, will be too much for the Red Devils.

Outlook: This game pits two rivals for the district opener, but the Bulldogs are the superior team this year.

Grandview at Scott City

Place, time: Scott City High School, 7:30 p.m.

Coaches: Grandview's Chris Woelich (2-5), Scott City's Jason Burkman (2-5)

Last year: Scott City won 29-6

Last week: Grandview lost to Valle 24-12. Scott City lost to Hayti 20-0.

Players to watch: GRANDVIEW -- (QB) Dan Freihaut, (RB) Jared Poyner, (DB) Jacob Labenthal. SCOTT CITY -- (QB) Luke McClellan, (RB) Jerry Jackson, (DE) Chad Weatherspoon.

Outlook: My how the times have changed. Scott City has won nine straight versus Grandview by an average score of 35-7, but the Eagles are favored.

Coaches: Hayti's David Gilmore (5-1), St. Vincent's Keith Winkler (5-2)

Last year: Hayti won 35-7 Last week: Hayti beat Scott City 20-0. St. Vincent beat Crystal City 42-6.

Players to watch: HAYTI -- (QB) Pete Peterson, (RB) Torey Nelson, (WR) William Moore. ST. VINCENT -- (QB) Chad Lane, (RB) Chris Kline, (WR) Brad Renner.

Outlook: Hayti hasn't been dominating like they were earlier in the year, but they will still be too tough for the always-tough Indians. Favorite: Hayti
