Call 4471-6636

I am hoping some honest individual out there can help me. I was sitting in Section X at the Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo Wednesday night, the night Alabama performed. Somehow my thin wallet must have fallen out of my pocket and subsequently I lost it and its contents which was some cash and my driver's license. The wallet was small and thin, only big enough to hold what I had in it. If you found it and/or its contents I would be so appreciative and relieved if you would call me at 471-2076.

I would like to SpeakOut about homemakers who have the nerve enough to call to report something when some of them (not all of them) don't make a lick at a stick but then want to call and report something. Look in the mirror before you report somebody else.

I'd like to invite any of the people of Sikeston to go to the bus stop where the children are picked up for school. On the corner of Scott and West Gladys streets the grass is up to their waists. There are cockle burrs and other stuff in the grass, also a dead tree hanging over it that could fall at any time. On the corner of West Gladys and Olive streets there is a house that's been burned out for some time. The grass has grown up there too on that corner and I thought maybe the people of Sikeston would like to just go down and take a look at where the children are before they go to school.

I would like to complain about the lot at the corner of Scott and Gladys streets. The grass is about 4-feet tall there and if it was anybody else's yard, they city would not tolerate it. They would be fining people for it. The school kids have to catch the bus there on that corner and I think something should be done about it.

I just read about "House poses danger" in SpeakOut. I just loved that response, "Have you contacted City Hall with your concern?" Listen, I've contacted City Hall for six years about a dump next door. They don't do anything. Sikeston is one of those towns, if you know the right person, you have the right amount of money, you get away with anything.

Sorry, caller. We try to get answers for our SpeakOut audience whenever possible by contacting the only people who could answer questions that are called in. This is why we asked if they contacted City Hall.

I'm just a little confused and I need some help. Perhaps someone out there can explain to me the reason the New Madrid Memorial Library, which was dedicated to the men and women of World War II, particularly those who died in the war, is being rededicated. Please explain this to me in simple terms. I just don't understand it.

Thank God they've decided to market low-rise jeans for men. The only problem is, for years I've had to hook my jeans on the back of my butt and under my gut to keep them up. If these low-rise jeans come in, I think we're all going to be exposed to more crack.
