Karen Smith

BLOOMFIELD - Karen Ruth Smith, 47, died June 18, 2003, at the Baptist Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

Born March 26, 1956, at Aurora, Ill., daughter of Harlan and Joyce Fletcher Gillett of Appleton, Wis., she was employed with Save-A-Lot in Dexter.

On Jan. 12, 1974, in Poplar Bluff, she married Daniel A. Smith who survives of the home.

Survivors in addition to her husband and parents include: three sons, Daniel Smith Jr. of Fort Lewis, Wash., Shawn Byron Smith of Dexter and Kevin Wayne Smith of Bloomfield; one daughter, Jennifer Ann Craft of Dexter; three brothers, John Gillett of Aurora, Harlan Gillett Jr. of Champaign, Ill., and Richard Gillett of Appleton, Wis.; three sisters, Kathy Hawks of Doniphan, Sherry Ely of Menasha, Wis., and Tammy Boucher of Black Creek, Wis.; and two grandchildren.

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter with the Rev. Dennis Breland officiating.

Her remains will be cremated.
