Reward is offered

TALLAPOOSA -- Postal officials and officers with the New Madrid County Sheriff's Department are asking for the public's help in catching those responsible for the burglary of the Tallapoosa Post Office.

The burglary occurred sometime between Dec. 23 at 4:30 p.m. and 6 a.m. on Dec. 24 when the front door to the post office was forced open. Numerous items were taken including a quantity of postal mail orders. No mail was believed to have been taken.

A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those involved in the incident.
