J.B. Rowe
HOWARDVILLE - Jettie Benjamin "B.J." "Black" Rowe, 78, died Jan. 6, 2003, at his home.
Born Sept. 10, 1924, in Caruthersville, son of the late Losson and Minnie Gillispie Rowe, he was a lifelong resident of Missouri. He retired from Noranda Aluminum Inc. in Marston and was past mayor and alderman of Howardville. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Howardville.
On Nov. 19, 1946, he married Margarett A. McMorkle who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: five sons, Charles Rowe, Donald Rowe and Cory Rowe of Howardville, Tommy Rowe of Malden and Mark Rowe of Columbia; four daughters, Pearl Hicks of Lilbourn, Joyce Cole of Omaha, Neb., Clois Taylor of Howardville and Tammy Bell of Marston; and 40 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Williams-Farr and Purnell Funeral Home in Howardville.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon Saturday in the Howardville Multipurpose Center.
Burial will follow in Simmons Park Cemetery at Catron.
