SIKESTON - Mrs. Wade Malcolm will be installed next Thursday as worthy matron of the Order of Eastern Star in a joint installation at the Odd Fellows Hall.

CHARLESTON - A.J. Drinkwater Jr., president of the Southeast Missouri Council, Boy Scouts of America, has made his appointments for committee chairmen to serve the 14-county area. Appointed were: Thurston Hill of Dexter, John Downing of Malden, L.M. Standley and Edward Matthews Jr. of Sikeston, J.D. Faulkner and Jim Collier of Kennett and Ross Blomeyer of Bloomfield.

WAPPAPELLO - With the onslaught of rain to this area recently, rivers, streams and lakes have reached record levels. One of those is Wappapello.

CAPE GIRARDEAU - Degrees were conferred during winter commencement exercises Dec. 12 at Southeast Missouri State University. Sikeston graduates include: Alice Baker, Brenda Carter, Shirley Coleman, Rebecca Crowley, Christy Greenlee, Gorma Hartlein and Patricia Keefer.
