David Mattes

SCOTT CITY -- David Louis Mattes, 46, died Jan. 4, 2003, at his home.

He was born Aug. 28, 1956, in Perryville, son of Mary Jane Wichern Mattes of Kelso and the late John Dominic Mattes.

David was a salesman with Glazer Midwest (formerly Paramount Liquor) for 21 years. He graduated in 1974 form Illmo-Scott City High School and was a member of Eisleben Lutheran Church in Scott City and Elks Lodge 639 in Cape Girardeau. David enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his friends.

Survivors in addition to his mother include two stepsons, Mark Robinson of Cape Girardeau and Chris Robinson of Chaffee; one brother, Wayne Mattes of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Kathleen Seaman of Florissant and Tina Medlin of Kelso; five stepgrandchildren, six nieces and nephews, one great-niece, three step nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Mike Schaefer of Scott City.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City and will continue from 8 to 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Eisleben Lutheran Church with the Rev. Bob Azinger officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Mike Schaefer, Mark Burger, Kenny Enderle, Steve Berry, Glenn Ward, Mark Stuart, Richard Diebold and Terry LeDure.
