Dear city officials, as a resident of Sikeston, I am lodging my complaint to all concerned. In Plantation Acres, we have a water problem between Bucklin Drive and Pine Street. Water is constantly standing, there is no drainage and the smell is horrible. As summer progresses, the mosquitoes will be even worse. We have talked with anyone who would give a few minutes of their time, including Mr. Bridger, Mr. Friend and Council members. According to the city, all I can gather is that the water problem should be taken care of by the utility company and/or the contractors. Cable TV put in a cable box and put in a large hole where water stands. They won't do anything. The contractors won't do anything, nor will the city. The city can't put in a culvert in for the water to drain to the street (or so I've been told) because of the utility lines. Are we expected to live with this mess? Several industries, for the past 30 years, have come and gone. Why? Could it be because of the simple problem of running water out of the right-of-way can't be fixed? This can't be bothered with. I know this seems small, but a lot of small problems can add up to big problems. Why? What will it take for Sikeston officials to realize that something is wrong? Please research back the last several years and see what has come and gone? Sincerely, a senior citizen without any recourse but to seek legal counsel for this problem.

Isaiah 30:25, 26 speaks of the Twin Towers, "And there will be upon every high mountain, and upon every high hill, rivers and streams of waters in the day of the great slaughter when the towers fall. Moreover, the light of the moon will be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun will be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the Lord binds up the bruise of his people, and heals the stroke of their wound." I guess I just wanted to put this in here to show that if we read the Bible more often, like we should, we might know things that are foretold of the future, and how to prepare for them, and to let everybody know that there is a God who is there for you. The Bible speaks about many other things.

I'm calling to SpeakOut about the city ordinance that is coming into effect. Under this new ordinance, any animal that does not native to the state of Missouri is considered exotic and this goes for a lot of dogs, cats and other animals that are not native to the state of Missouri. Anybody who has any of these animals needs to go to the city council meeting at 5 p.m. June 9 at City Hall. If we let this go and don't get it taken care of, everybody will have to have their cats on a leash, they will have to get rid of their pets because they're not native to the state of Missouri. I would like to advise people to go and get a copy of the city ordinance and read it and be prepared when they go to the meeting.

I would like to SpeakOut about the dope heads who can't seem to figure out that they can't take responsibility for their own actions. Racketeering activity means any act or threat involving murder, kidnapping, gambling, arson, robbery, extortion, dealing in an obscene manner or dealing in a controlled substance or a listed chemical as defined in Section 2 of the Controlled Substance Act, which is chargeable under state law by imprisonment of more than one year. These people, how can you feel sorry for them when they try to kill people, when they're dealing dope. It's time to get rid of them. Let's make our streets safer and get rid of these people who can't take responsibility for their own actions and want to blame it on everything else. If you're dealing, you're guilty. Facts are facts. You can live in a fiction world all you want, but if you're dealing, you're dopey. You get caught. You don't need to be in our society because we don't want our kids on dope.
