I am calling about the gay issue. I have news for you. We're not judging you. Just read your Bible and you will find that it's wrong for you to be a homosexual or a lesbian. Eighty-eight percent of homosexuals are closer to their mothers than to their fathers; and lesbians are closer to their fathers. You are not born to be gay. The same scenario could be used for other things. If someone kills somebody, does that mean that person was born to be a killer? Or if someone is a rapist, was that person born to be a rapist? You choose that lifestyle. We're not judging you, we're just telling you the truth, that it is wrong to be a homosexual or a lesbian, whether you like it or not. There is a God and we're always going to have to stand before Him. You will find out the truth from Him. It is wrong.

I am calling about people taking bankruptcy for the fun of it. Bankruptcy is all right for people who are in real financial need, such as losing their jobs or because of a serious illness. But when people go out and spend beyond their limits, knowing someone else will wipe their bills clean, that's as low as you can get. Some people take bankruptcy and then go buy anything they want; they're both working with real good jobs.

I am responding to "Looking for advice" which was printed in the Aug. 13 Standard Democrat. I would like this same advice because I have seen officers abuse their power.

To the person who called in Aug. 13 about the sheriff's department and police. I don't know who you are, but your situation is very similar to mine.

Sorry, caller, but SpeakOut is an anonymous forum and we refrain from publishing your e-mail address.

I live in Miner and am calling about a lady who has a dog that is trained to bite. This dog has already bitten two people, she lets it run loose and it doesn't have any tags. Sometimes it doesn't have a collar. Her friend, who is a Miner police officer and lives across the street, was sitting in his police car and letting the kids play with the car's lights and the dog was running circles around the car. There is no sign to say "beware of dog" and the leash law is being ignored. Then the officer does this. I know they're friends and he knows the dog has bitten people. You can't call the city of Miner and tell them about it because they're friends with the mayor and another official is a best friend. So if I can't call Miner, who can I call?

You can call the Scott County Sheriff's Department and file a complaint. The number is 471-3530.

How many accidents do we have to have at H and HH in Miner before a light is put in? They continue to run that every day.

This is in regards to the crazy recall election in California. I heard on the news that they are going to print the bill in 20+ languages. That is just about the craziest thing I've ever heard of. Not to mention the expense it will cost, that is the most ridiculous, stupid, ignorant thing possible, just to name a few. If the readers can't read enough English to vote, they should not be allowed to vote. This is the USA and English is our language. If they don't appreciate us enough to learn English, let them go back to where they came from.
