Mildred Laws

PORTAGEVILLE - Mildred P. Laws, 83, died Dec. 27, 2004, in Jackson.

Born Nov. 11, 1921, in Point Pleasant, daughter of the late Walter and Ella Bruce Lovell, she was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Portageville.

On Sept. 24, 1938, in Portageville, she married Lee Edward Laws who preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 1959.

She was also preceded in death by five sons, William Edward Laws, Doyle Laws, Don Laws, Clarence Laws, Eddie Laws; one daughter, Gladis Deloris Laws; and one sister, Juanita Cope.

Survivors include: one son, Kendall Laws of Portageville; three daughters, Carolyn Pruitt of Litchfield, Mich., Helen Lane of Portageville and Kay Blanchett of Burfordville; and 24 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. today at DeLisle Funeral Home, where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Eugene Poole will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
