Scott City routs Malden; Advance blows past Oran

SCOTT CITY - Junior guard Mark Dannenmueller led four players into double figures as Scott City improved to 18-4 with a home victory.

Dannenmueller scored 19 points, including three 3-pointers. Andy Beck added 14, Tyler Ward had 13 and Jeremy Schlosser scored 10.

Ward had 10 rebounds while Beck and Mark Johnston each had eight. Schlosser doled out five assists and Steve Sanford had four. Scott City led 55-24 at halftime.

ADVANCE - Advance built a 24-point lead by halftime and won easily over visiting Oran.

Ace Cloninger led the Hornets (15-8) with 14 points. Daryl Wade added 12. Ryan Bouge paced Oran (4-13) with 10 points.

Leopold 55, Zalma 49

LEOPOLD - Leopold set up a showdown in the Mississippi Valley Conference by turning back visiting Zalma.

The Wildcats (11-10, 5-0) play second-place Delta, which is 5-1, on Friday night.

Lucas Horrell and Kelly Stause paced Leopold with 19 and 17 points, respectively. Each had a pair of 3-pointers.

For Zalma, David Hovis scored 21 points before fouling out in the final minute. Leopold led 45-30 heading into the final period.

STE. GENEVIEVE - A pair of Meadow Heights sophomores combined for 49 points, but it was senior Brian Thompson who hit the game-winner, connecting on a 3-point shot with 1.8 seconds left to break a deadlock and give the Panthers a road victory.

Sophomores Anthony Bollinger and Terry Wagner scored 28 and 21 points, respectively.

Meadow Heights (12-9), which tied a state record with 24 3-pointers on Monday, trailed 37-31 at halftime.

MARBLE HILL - Travis Benfield poured in 30 points as Woodland posted an easy home victory.

Also in double figures for the Cardinals (12-9) were Cody McCraw with 17 points and Chad Hulvey with 15.

DELTA - Delta took the lead early and cruised to a home win. Zack Kelley led Delta (16-7) with 20 points. Derek Helderman added 19, and Cody Crowden and Daniel Cook each had 13.

Richard Hinkebein led Chaffee (1-17) with 11 points.

OAK RIDGE - St. Vincent built a 35-25 halftime lead and coasted to a road victory.

Alex Armbruster led the Indians (10-9) with 22 points and Danny Rellergert had 13.

Oak Ridge (3-17) got 18 points from Austin Morrison and 12 from Terry Bogenpohl.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

ORAN - St. Vincent pulled away from a 6-6 tie after the first quarter to roll past host Oran.

Sierra Paulus led the Squaws (8-13) with 14 points and was the game's only double-figure scorer.
