Bill Rickman

BLOOMFIELD -- Billy Joe Rickman, 73, died Feb. 13, 2004, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.

Born July 22, 1930, in Senath, son of the late Fred and Myrtle Ford Rickman, he was a retired employee of Puralator in Dexter and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Korean War. He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church in Bloomfield, where he taught Sunday school for 20 years.

On June 16, 1957, in Bloomfield, he married Doris Elaine Cowgur who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: three sons, Billy Dean Rickman and Freddie Rickman of Bloomfield and Wayne Rickman of Dudley; five grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two great-stepgrandchildren.

One brother, Marvin Rickman, preceded him in death.

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Mike Arthur officiating.

Burial will follow in the North Antioch Cemetery near Bloomfield.
