Dexter police investigate thefts

DEXTER - The Dexter Police Department is investigating a series of the theft of personal property from several vehicles in town.

The first report was made at 6:33 a.m. Saturday which states that items were stolen out of two vehicles which were parked at 908 N. Sassafras during the night. Taken were registration papers and some loose change. At 9:19 a.m. Saturday, two more break-ins were reported for vehicles at 1030 N. Sassafras. Cash was taken and some clothing items which had also been taken were found discarded down the street. Then at 10:18 a.m., theft from a vehicle parked at 1004 N. Mulberry St. was reported. In this incident, a Pioneer CD player and Pioneer 50 watt amplifier were stolen.

The chain of events continued with a report at 12:46 p.m., when a vehicle parked at 1015 N. Mulberry was also visited by someone interested in stereo equipment. In this case, stolen were a Pioneer CD player with remote, Pyramid 600 watt amplifier, Whistler radar detector, Xtreme R-3 12-inch subwoofer and a bottle of Candie cologne. After a brief break from the thefts, a radar detector was stolen from a vehicle parked at 501 W. Fannetta St. This report was made at 11:33 p.m.
