DEXTER - Beatrice M. Gowen, 82, died Feb. 5, 2005, at the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.

Born Feb. 18, 1922, in Clinton, Tenn., to the late Charles Edward and Lulu Smith Tucker, she moved as a child to Bragg City where she graduated high school. In 1939 she moved to Gray Ridge residing there until moving to Dexter in 1996. She was an active member of the Dexter Church of Christ.

On Aug. 2, 1941, in Bloomfield, she married Raymond F. Gowen who survives.

Other survivors include: one son, Billy Ray Gowen of Albuquerque, N.M.; three daughters, Wanda Sue Griffin and Paula Jean Jones of Dexter and Donna Joanne Mansker of Tucson, Ariz.; one brother, Harold Vern Tucker of Mer Rouge, La.; and six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. till 3 p.m. today at the Watkins and Sons Chapel in Dexter where services are scheduled for 3 p.m. today with Dale Grissom and Clyde Jacques of Dexter officiating.

Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
