Dexter man charged with statutory rape

BLOOMFIELD -- A Dexter man is currently being held in the Stoddard County Jail after being charged with statutory rape Wednesday.

According to Sgt. G. Gregory of the Dexter Police Department, Michael Wesley Richardson, 22, was arrested on a Stoddard County felony arrest warrant for the class C Felony of Statutory Rape.

Richardson's arrest comes as a result of an investigation conducted by the Dexter Police Department after receiving information that Richardson had sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old juvenile. He was booked into the Dexter City Jail and was later transferred to Stoddard County Jail. Cash-only bond is set at $12,500.
