Three cheers

Monday, April 8, 2002

To those people who travel Route U from U.S. Highway 61 toward Blodgett, please notice how clean the right-of-ways are from 61 to Haywood City.

Last Saturday morning (March 23), a group of young people from Haywood City under the direction of Rev. Alex Sims, pastor of the New Morning Star Baptist Church, worked diligently picking up the enormous amount of trash along that road.

In these days when there is so much negative news about young people and the bad things they do, please let these children know how much you appreciate their gift of time and work. How wonderfully clean this area looks! To the thoughtless people who clutter our roadways with their trash, how hard is it to keep a plastic bag in your vehicle to put your trash in and then dispose of it properly?

Cheers to the youth of Haywood City and to Rev. Sims. You are truly appreciated!
