Baker leads American Legion to win

SIKESTON -- Here are Thursday's results from Sikeston Area Youth Baseball:

NATIONAL LEAGUE

Baker was 4-for-4 with two RBIs, leading the Legion to victory. Ramey pitched all five innings, allowing three hits and two walks with eight strikeouts. For Kiwanis, James was 2-for-2. Faulkner was charged with the loss.

Howard was 3-for-4, Davidson was 2-for-3, Bell was 2-for-4 and Sells was 1-for-3 in the Lions' 11-2 win. Bell, Howard, Limbaugh and Davidson all pitched for the Lions, allowing five hits and four walks with nine strikeouts.

For Lewis, Hart was 3-for-3 and Beydler was 2-for-3. Dillender, Green and McIntosh also had hits. Hart and Gilmore both pitched in the loss.

AMERICAN LEAGUE

Obermark was 3-for-5, leading the Elks to victory. Williams and Bryant both pitched in the win, allowing eight hits and 10 walks with five strikeouts.

For Fabrite, McDowell was 2-for-4. McDowell and Kindle both pitched in the loss.

Jones was 2-for-3, leading Fabick to victory. Foust and Pyland both pitched for Fabick, allowing four hits and eight walks with two strikeouts.

For Blanchard, Copeland was 2-for-3. Copeland was charged with the loss.

ROOKIE LEAGUE

Michael Gipson knocked a triple and had two RBIs, leading the DQ to victory. Miranda Fowler, Hunter Williams and Michael Gipson each had three hits.

Ben Murray, Josh Hampton and Donald Fodge each had two hits. For D&S, Trenton Gross and Kaiden Lambert each had two hits. Zach Shaw, Alex Elsery, Ben Hunter and Morgan Showmaker each contributed one.

Bayleah James got her first hit of the season and Andrew Hicks blasted a triple to the fence, leading Ponder to an 8-1 victory. Hicks and Ben Walker each finished with three hits. Ryan Vander, Drew Harper, Matt Keene and Ian Meeks each finished with two.

For Randy's Rx, Rachel Lewis got her first hit and Isaac Protzel caught a ball off the tip of his glove.

Kyle McElwain and Colten Williams each had two hits. Kyland Gross, Lee Williams, Jacob Williams and Rachel Lewis each finished with one.

Tyler Anderson blasted a home run and Christen Meeker got her first hit in 731's 8-2 win.

Nick Nichols, Luke Keefer, Tyler Anderson and Conner MacGillivray each had two hits for 731.

For Sikeston Motors, Blake Angle and Ian Householder each had two hits.

Chris Kennard, Sam Lincoln, Kyler Reeves and Conner Hamra each contributed one.

For Jim Wilson, Austin Erwin, Derrick Garner, Aaron Neal and Seth Williams each had three hits. For Morlan, Adam Kennard, Garren Maddox, Doug S., Zach Harrison and Gavin O'Brien each had three hits.

Discount Rentals 5, Rotary 1

Taylor P. was 2-for-2 with an RBI, leading Discount Rentals to a 5-1 win. For Rotary, Austin had an in-the-park home run in the third inning. Chris was 2-for-2.
