OAK FOREST, Ill. -- Jimmie Pullam, 69, died June 9, 2004, at Palos Hospital in Palos.

Born May 27, 1935, near Dexter, Mo., son of the late Jesse Lee and Goldie Ellen Carter Pullam, he had lived in Missouri, Michigan, Illinois, Colorado and Ohio before moving to Dexter four years ago. He had been residing at Oak Forest for one month. A retired trucker and trucking company manager, he attended the Assembly of God Church in Dexter.

On May 24, 1952, at Pocahontas, Ark., he married Dorothy Ragsdel who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Stanley Ray Pullam of Oak Forest; two daughters, Sharon Lee Ramirez of Lincoln Park, Mich., and Karen Joyce Howlett of Aurora, Colo., two brothers, Paul Pullam of Hopkinsville, Ky., and Dallas Pullam of Aurora; one sister, Joyce Whiteside of Melvindale, Mich.; and 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 pm. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, where service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Michael Kohlbaker of Dexter will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Hagy Cemetery at Dexter.
