MATTHEWS -- Jimmie Mays Gore, 73, formerly of East Prairie, died at 9:45 p.m. June 9. 2004, at his residence of an apparent heart attack.

Born Aug. 28, 1930, in Matthews, son of the late Raymond R. and Bertha P. Mays Gore, he had lived near Matthews for the past four years, moving from East Prairie. He was a retired maintenance man for the Local 688 Teamsters in St. Louis.

On Dec. 21, 1956, in St. Louis, he married Bertha Burrell who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: three sons, Michael Gore and Ricky Gore of Spanish Lake and Dennis Gore of East Prairie; one daughter, Debbie Whybark of Matthews; three brothers, Richard Gore of East Prairie, Robert Gore of Wright City and Dale Gore of Rector, Ark.; five sisters, Mildred Coffer of Wright City, Sally White of Cape Girardeau, Sue Talley of Warrenton, Diane Haney of Sikeston and Joyce Johnson of Jefferson City; and eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

One brother, Alfred Gore, preceded him in death.

No visitation or funeral services are scheduled.

Shelby Funeral Home of East Prairie is in charge of arrangements.
