SIKESTON - Humberto Negron, 86, died April 29, 2007, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Aug. 28, 1920, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, son of the late Angel and Secundina Rosa Negron, he was a member of the Catholic faith, a master sergeant of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II and the Korean War, retiring in 1959 after receiving two Combat Medical Badges. He had worked for the Regional Diagnostic Center in Sikeston.

On Jan. 24, 1960, at Aberdeen, Md., he married Elsie Triplett who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Miguel Angel Negron of San Juan; six sisters, Angela Negron Vazquez of Carolina, Puerto Rico, Minerva Negron Ramsey of Lynchburg, Va., Blanca Negron Smith of Aquadilla, Puerto Rico, Fidelinda Negron Sneed of New York, Sylvia Negron Ferrell of Dunedin, Fla., and Nilda Negron Benitaz of San Juan; one brother-in-law and his wife, Charles L. and Jeanne Triplett of Dexter; and 12 nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded him in death by one son, Humberto Negron Jr.; four brother, Luis Rivero, Miguel Angel Negron, Julio Ceaser Negron and Manuel Angel Negron; one sister, Celinda Rodriguez Negron; two sisters-in-

law, Thelma T. Moss and Lilas Heacox; and three brothers-in-law, Eual Heacox, Weldon Moss and Marion Norman Triplett.

Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Ponder Funeral Home where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Burial with full military honors will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
