Daisy Thomas

EAST PRAIRIE - Daisy Irene Thomas, 88, died at 2:15 p.m. Aug. 30, 2007, at the East Prairie Nursing Center.

Born Feb. 15, 1919, in Graves County, Ky., to the late Stanley B. and Ruthie L. Cook Thomas, she lived most of her life in Mississippi County where she was a member of the Full Gospel Church.

On Sept. 22, 1935, she married Marion Otto Thomas who preceded her in death on July 8, 1977.

One daughter, two sons, two brothers, four sisters and five grandchildren also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: three sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald B. and Patsy Thomas, Billy J. and Jennie Thomas and Marion L. and Sharon Thomas of East Prairie; four daughters and one son-in-law, Virginia Hedgecoth of Porterville, Calif., Yvonne and James Hopper and Charlotte and Christine Thomas of East Prairie; one brother, Marion Thomas of Cape Girardeau; one sister, Evelyn Presson of Charleston; and 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday with Mike Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
