Vera Rollins

CAPE GIRARDEAU - Vera M. Nabors Rollins, 64, died May 6, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

Born June 9, 1937, in Waverly, Ark., daughter of the late Rev. J.L. and Grace Mocassin Nabors, she lived in Missouri for more than 55 years and attended Lincoln School in Sikeston and was a private duty nurse. She was a member of the House of Prayer Church in Cape Girardeau, where she served as a missionary, Sunday school teacher and usher.

On May 12, 1979, in Cape Girardeau, she married Vernon Rollins who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: three daughters, Audrey Mhoon and Aleisha Nabors of Cape Girardeau and Renee Nabors of Sikeston; nine brothers, James Nabors, Lee Earl Nabors, the Rev. L.J. Nabors and Lynn Nabors of Sikeston, the Rev. Roy B. Nabors, the Rev. Benjamin L. Nabors, Tommy Nabors and David Nabors of Milwaukee, Wis., and Calvin Nabors of Raleigh, N.C.; six sisters, Joyce McKinney and Florida Nabors of Sikeston, Tina Nabors and Linda Nabors of Milwaukee, Clarinda Palmer of Baton Rouge, La., and Leatha Foster of Alton, Ill.; and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Micheal Nabors on April 10, 1992; and her stepmother, Lottie Nabors on Aug. 22, 2000.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Sikeston, where services are scheduled for noon Saturday.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
