NEW MADRID -- Memorial contributions for Benjamin James "B.J." Rooker, 80, who died April 18, 2004, may be sent to the New Madrid Historical Museum, 1 Main St., New Madrid, MO 63869; or the Higgerson School in care of Richards Funeral Home, 436 Main St., New Madrid, MO 63869.

Services were conducted at 11 a.m. today at the United Methodist Church in New Madrid with the Rev. Leland Butler officiating.

Burial followed in Mounds Park Cemetery near Lilbourn.
