Parris wins points championship

SIKESTON -- Here are the Oct. 6 results from the Sikeston Drag Strip.

Once again 2001 Super Pro points champion Ken Parris seemed unstoppable, taking the Super Pro win again Saturday night. Parris ran 5.43 on a 5.41 dial at 126 m.p.h.

His reaction time was .512. Neil Gates, driving the Modern Floor Coverings entry, took second place. Gates ran 5.55 on a 5.45 dial at 123 m.p.h.

St. Louis' Alan Pleasant won the Pro Class with a 7.50 dial. He ran 7.50 at 89 m.p.h. His reaction time was .504. Second place went to Murray's Ricky Cunningham, who ran 7.79 on a 7.76 dial at 86 m.p.h. His reaction time was .560.

Dieter Woolard posted his second straight E.T. win, outlasting Gary "Temple of" Doom. Woolard ran 8.23 on a 8.19 dial at 81 m.p.h. His reaction time was .549. Doom ran 8.56 on a 8.55 dial at 78 m.p.h. His reaction time was .583.

The Super Street finals will take place this Saturday.
