Armetta Basinger

CANALOU -- Armetta Faye Basinger, 61, died Sept. 22, 2002, at her home.

Born March 8, 1941, in Meta, Ky., daughter of the late Howard and Hazel Smith Chapman, she was a member of Big Ridge General Baptist Church in Matthews.

On April 2, 1958, at McAndrews, Ky., she married J.D. Basinger who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: three daughters and two sons-in-law, Donna and Dennis Mitchell, LaVonna and Rick Foraker and JoAnn Drake of Canalou; two brothers, Dan Chapman of Canada, Ky., and Ralph Chapman of McAndrews, Ky.; one sister, Patricia Brown of Hollywood, Md.; and two grandchildren Jason Michael McDonald and Courtney Nicole Ivie of Canalou.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
