Preston McKinley

CAPE GIRARDEAU - Preston Lee McKinley, 48, formerly of Bertrand, died at 4:05 a.m. Oct. 4, 2004, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Born Dec. 13, 1955, in Sikeston, son of Joyce Ezzell McKinley of Bertrand and the late Horace Lee McKinley, he lived in Bertrand most of his life. He was employed in construction and was of the Methodist belief.

On Feb. 13, 2001, he married Becky Perry Way who survives of the home.

Survivors in addition to his wife and mother include: one son, Joshua Lee McKinley of Benton; one daughter, Christy Ann McKinley of Blodgett; three stepsons, Phillip Way, Bryan Way and Shawn Way of Cape Girardeau; one brother, Allen McKinley of East Prairie; one granddaughter, Taylor Abigail Dorris of Blodgett; and two stepgranddaughters Bailey Way and Abby Way of Cape Girardeau.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 pm. Wednesday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday. Don Jolliff of Painton and Ron McKinley of Jackson will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.

Pallbearers will be: Larry Smith, Danny Stidham, Jim Rolwing, Dave Ezzell, Ben Johnson, Steve Hicks, Jerry Don Naile Jr. and Kent Perry.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Ken Bowman, Perry Wayne Jolliff, Jerry Don Naile Sr., Ryan McKinley, Dennis McKinley, Tom Scherer, Joe Johnson and Bob Johnson.
