Don Powell

CAPE GIRARDEAU - Franklin "Don" Powell, 61, died April 29, 2003, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born May 31, 1941, in Gadsden, Ala., son of the late Ollie and Bertha Hanna Powell, he was owner and manager of the Muddy Water Store in Cape Girardeau. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and retired from Noranda Aluminum.

His wife, Theresa Eve Musgrave Powell, survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two sons, Scottie Powell of Little Rock, Ark., and Nicky Powell of Cape Girardeau; one daughter, Donette Clark of New Madrid; four brothers, Clark Powell of Ohio, Fred Powell of Kentucky, Bill Powell of Tennessee and Milton Powell of Sikeston; two sisters, Christene Mays of Lilbourn and Lorene Dinenie of St. Louis; and six grandchildren.

Visitation begins at 6 p.m. Thursday at DeLisle Funeral Home, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday.

Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
