John Makin

MATTHEWS - John Richard Makin, 33, died at 9:53 p.m. May 6, 2003, in Matthews.

Born May 23, 1969, in Orange City, Calif., son of John E. Makin of Florida and Deborah Derrick Napier of Avon Park, Fla., he was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Matthews. He was a truck driver for the Sikeston Concrete Company.

On Nov. 9, 2000, in Matthews, he married Mary Ross who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Trenton Makin of the home; one daughter, Tiffany Makin of the home; two sisters, Cheri Krekel of Sebring, Fla., and Rachel Tomek of Avon Park, Fla.; and his maternal grandparents, Dewayne and Dorothy Derrick of Avon Park.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. Saturday until service time at 3 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. The Rev. Rodney Dunlap, pastor of the First Missionary Baptist Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Matthews Cemetery.
