This is in reference to two stores here in town, Lowe's and Wal-Mart. It is almost Poppy time again and for those who don't know what Poppy's are, they are for our veterans. All money raised (and this is a fund-raiser) goes directly for our veterans. In April you will see people sitting in front of Market Place, Food Giant, Miner Piggly Wiggly and Save-A-Lot taking donations for Poppys. But Wal-Mart and Lowe's will not allow us to sit in front of their stores. Lowe's is afraid it will take away from their own project and Wal-Mart won't tell us why we can't sit in front of their store. Wal-Mart will allow every school, church, Salvation Army and any other person to sit in front of their store, but not the Veterans. I have nothing against these organizations and I support them. But why not give the same attention to our veterans? If it wasn't for these people I wouldn't have the freedom to type this letter. A concerned supporter of our Veterans.

Mike, I agree with you. I think it's time for all the war protesters to come to grips with the fact that we are in war, get rid of their banners and make some new ones: "Abdicate Saddam and save lives" and "Abdicate Saddam and save your people." The anti-war protesters are not capable of stopping the war. They are capable of deflating morale of our troops who are defending their right to protest. They are capable of pleasing Saddam and the countries that have been illegally selling him the ability to be a threat to our nation. I don't need to name them. Just read the list of those on the UN Security Council who oppose our action. They do not perceive themselves to be threatened by terrorists. They want the dictator to stay in power. They feel safe from the terrorists that he has the supplies of destruction to arm.

I'd like to SpeakOut about KFVS-12. It seems like when they have ballgames, it doesn't matter if our military are over there dying or what, the ballgame comes first. But when it comes to the soap operas for the women, boy they cut those things off for no reason at all. But they will not take it off for the ballgame, like Thursday and Friday. I was trying to get the news on KFVS and they kept that stupid ballgame on all day long until 11 p.m. I don't think it's fair.

I have a question about what's going on in the Middle East. Why wasn't that Iraqi soldier screened out and pulled out to begin with. I'm behind our armed forces and our President 100 percent.
