Frances Matheney

BELL CITY - Mary "Frances" Matheney, 80, died April 26, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Aug. 28, 1922, in Pleasant Grove, daughter of the late Oscar and Nancy Elizabeth Bennett Vickens, she was a machine operator for the International Hat Factory in Oran for 25 years and attended the Bell City General Baptist Church.

On Aug. 19, 1942, she married Vernal "Goog" Matheney who preceded her in death on Jan. 22, 1999.

Survivors include: one son, Jerry Matheney of Bell City; three daughters, Nancy Clary, Kay Daniels and Judy Green of Bell City; and six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Two brothers, five sisters and one great-granddaughter also preceded her in death.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Mike Triplett will officiate.

Burial will follow in Morgan Memorial Park at Advance.
