BLOOMFIELD -- Herbert Cleo Rhine, 56, died Aug. 18, 2005, at his home in Bloomfield.

Born Aug. 18, 1949, in Mount Clements, Mich., son of Elsie Bolden Rhine of Dexter and the late Cleo "Joe" Rhine, he was a carpenter and had lived in Bloomfied all of his life. He was a member of the Eagles Aerie and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, where he was highly decorated.

In addition to his mother, survivors include: two brothers, Joe B. Rhine of Dexter and Jamie Paul Rhine of Fort Branch, Ind.; three sisters, Geneie Snyder of Dexter, Mary Virginia Horkey of Rapid City, S.D., and Peggy Norma Hughey of Olathe, Kan.

One son, Ricky Allen Rhine, preceded him in death in 2001.

Visitation is after 11 a.m. Friday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with the Rev. Karen Oldham of Dexter officiating. The Stoddard County Veteran's Honor Team will conduct military services.
