CHARLESTON - Jerry Lynn Bone, 67, a resident of Charleston died at 4:20 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003, at his residence.

He was born Dec. 19, 1935, in Charleston to Helen Brown Bone, who survives of Charleston and the late Jack Bone. He had lived his entire life in Charleston where he was a member of the St. Henry Catholic Church and was employed with the U.S. Postal Service as a postal carrier. He was a U.S. Army veteran, served with the Missouri National Guard and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, VFW Post 4294 in Charleston and was an "exhausted rooster" of the former Charleston Jaycees.

On April 21, 1962, he married Judith Ann Mohundro, who survives of the home.

Also surviving are two sons, Jon Bone of Denver, Colo., and Scott Waggner Bone of the state of Oregon; two brothers, David Bone of McKenzie, Tenn., and Ronnie Bone of South Haven, Miss.; one sister, JoAnn Lyons of Dallas, Texas; three grandchildren, Kayla Hutcheson and Katherine Hutcheson of East Prairie and Matthew John Bone of Denver; and five nieces whom he raised, Jessica Welch of Wyatt, Angelé McHarry of Cape Girardeau, Katie Smith of Charleston, and Lauren Mohundro Welch and Leah Mohundro Welch of Wyatt.

He was preceded in death by: two brothers, Jackie Bone and Shirley Bone; two sisters, Glenda Pierce and Margaret Denbow; and two nephews, Christopher Smith and Nathan Smith.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston with Knights of Columbus rites scheduled at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston.

Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Missouri Military Funeral Honors Program.

Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.
