Modglin signs with Missouri State

Ryan Modglin (bottom center), a senior at Scott City High School, recently signed a national letter of intent to play baseball for Missouri State. Modglin, who is a three-year letterman in basketball and baseball, is the first Ram in Scott City history to sign with a Division 1 college to play baseball. Moglin batted .481 with 4 home runs, 4 triples, 12 doubles and 34 RBIs last year as a junior while striking out 115 batters in 53 1/3 innings on the mound. He ended the season with two no-hit shutouts and a 2.03 ERA earning all-conference player of the year, all-region and all-state. He also threw a no-hit shutout as a sophomore earning all-conference honors and threw a no-hit shutout in his first start as a freshman.
