I think the Standard Democrat is way too one-sided on the gay issue. Gay people really don't have a choice. The pastor who spoke out should keep reading the Bible where it says Love thy brother and judge not, lest ye be judged.

It's no wonder we have so much cancer. This water tastes like it's about half bleach. It smells and tastes like bleach right now and it's yellow.

I heard on the news that they have more recalls of toys that have lead in them. These American factories, they wanted stuff made cheaper. Well, they are getting it cheaper and they are also getting lead poisoning along with it. They're getting what they asked for, cheap labor and lead poisoning.

I was calling about the article that was wondering if the lady with seven children married to the illegal would be accepted if they were deported to Mexico. Well, yes honey, she would be because Mexico ain't like the U.S. I don't see no reason to treat anyone differently for being a different race. Let me tell you honey, black, white, Mexican, Brazilian or from any other country, we're all the same inside whether you like it or not. It doesn't matter if he is illegal or not. As long as he is working to become legal, I don't see why everybody is raising so much commotion. They both have full-time jobs and take care of their children. What's wrong with you people? This is 2007 and we all just need to get along. In God's eyes we are all the same.

I noticed a couple of weeks ago at the Southeast Fair, the Cape Health Department was out inspecting the food booths almost every night I guess. Several times we saw them out with their t-shirts on. Does anybody inspect the food booths at the Cotton Carnival? I noticed the paper had a photo tonight of a lady without any protection on her hands wrapping sandwiches. Who inspected them?

According to a spokesperson of The Scott County Health Department, carnivals are inspected by request. The Sikeston Cotton Carnival stands were visited prior to opening.

I live on North Kingshighway and sometime ago we had cats, cats, cats. We've finally got rid of them. Now I am being aggravated by a yellow and white cat, or maybe it's two of them. It comes to my yard and I don't like cats. I don't think my neighbors do either. Please, whoever that lives on North Kingshighway and has this cat, keep it at home. When we have dogs we have to keep them at home.

Charleston businesses, they are looking like Cairo. Clean them up, paint them, fix them up or shut them down.
