Emma Swinger

DEXTER -- Emma L. Swinger, 88, died April 4, 2005, at Mulberry Manor in Dexter.

Born April 12, 1916, at Avert, daughter of the late J.W. and Edna Capps Littell, she was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ and Order of Eastern Star in Dexter and the Frisco Extension Club.

On Jan. 7, 1934, at Gary, Ind., she married Everett Foster Swinger who preceded him in death on Oct. 28, 1995.

Survivors include: one son, Dr. Terry Swinger of Caruthersville; one daughter, Jean Swinger of Wildwood; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

One son, William "Bill" Swinger; and one sister, Wilma Swinger, also preceded her in death.

Visitation is from 1 p.m. Wednesday until time for services at 2 p.m. at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. The Rev. Vaughn Wright will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
