Beatrice Owens

MT. VERNON, Ill. - Beatrice Owens, 48, died at 1:37 a.m. April 14, 2005, at the St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital.

Born March 25, 1957, in Charleston, Mo., to the late Frank and Elnora Cobb Ware, she was a health care provider and a member of the Mercy Seat Baptist Church in Charleston.

On April 19, 1994, at Mt. Vernon, she married Charles L. Owens who survives.

Also surviving are: four daughters, Annette Ware of Charleston, Lisa Ware of Sikeston and Alexandria Jones and Vickki Jones of Mt. Vernon; five sisters, Billie Cain of Sikeston, Leigh Ware of Sikeston and Hattie Nelson, Lela Ware and Della Ware of Charleston; seven brothers, Taylor Williams of Metropolis, Ill., James Ware of Mt. Vernon, Bobby Ware, Frank Ware, Paladin Ware, Randy Ware and Lester Carter of Charleston; and 11 grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the Jackson Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon and from 11 a.m. Monday until time for services at 1 p.m. at the Mercy Seat Baptist Church in Charleston. The Rev. Tony Moton will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery at Charleston.
