PUXICO -- Carroll Richmond Young, 82, died July 3, 2006, at the Veteran's Home in Cape Girardeau.

Born Aug. 26, 1923, in Arbyrd, son of the late Thomas and Ruth Kenser Young, he had lived in the Puxico community for many years and was a retired carpenter and construction worker. He was a member of the World Wide Church of God. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in the European Campaign.

On Sept. 29, 1961, he married Eloise Clinton who preceded him in death on May 19, 1988.

Survivors include: one son, Alan Young of Oak Ridge; two sisters, Shirley Mitchell of Cape Girardeau and Patsy Bishop of Jackson, Tenn; and three grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene and Raymond Young; and one sister, Wilma Eaton.

Visitation is after 6 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, where services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Burial with full military rites conducted by the Stoddard County Veteran's Honor Team will follow in the Duck Creek Cemetery near Puxico.
